Books and More Books

As Summer is just around the corner, I need to make my Must Read Summer Book List.  I do not get to read nearly as much since I started working full time but I still need that list that will fulfill time spent laying by the pool.

Safe Heaven
I started my Summer reading early with the newest Nicholas Sparks book.  It is a typical Sparks book about a woman living in a small town in North Carolina but this one seems a little different than all the others.

Something Borrowed
Emily Griffin's 1st book in the series is coming out as a movie this week but I am dying to read the book first. I have it on hold at the library but I do not know when it is suppose to come in...I should have just bought it but hopefully it will not be much longer.

Next one my list is the rest of Emily Griffin's books if I like the first one.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Another book that is being released as a movie this Summer written by Stieg Larsson.

Water for Elephants
I guess my list mostly consists of books that are movies but this movie looks amazing.  Sara Gruen's book is now on New York Time's Best Sellers list.

A Shore Thing
No judging.  Snooki's book is not becoming a movie.  I want to read her book out of pure curiosity just to see what it is like. I will be sure to update on the status of this book.

If I Stay & Where She Went
As I was looking around the web I found these on Amazon's best books of the month.  The books by Gayle Forman intrigued me.

So there is my list for the summer.  Hopefully I will find time for all of them.  I may need a e-reader so I can read more.

Rain Rain Go Away

April Showers has held true this year, lets hope it brings beautiful May Flowers. But if you have to deal with this ugly rain you might as well as do it in style.

This coat is super cute.  I love the bright color.
Steve Madden Jacket, Raincoat with Hood

NorthFace Jackets are usually more expense then I would want to spend, but I would not mind having this rain jacket.

I also like this one for a more dressy occassion.

Now everyone needs a fun umbrella, especially if it matches the coat.

I hate when my feet get wet.

With all these looks you could go play in the rain or maybe sing!

Working Woman

I love having a new outfit or my favorite work outfit to bring me out of the working blues.  I often will have a better day if I know I look my best.  Plus, you never know who you will run into at the office.  I strive to be proud of what I wear because it represents who I am.

I love the color of this cropped trench coat.  It is great for Spring.  This would be perfect for a more casual day at the office.

I like wearing wedges to work.  More comfortable than typical heels.  Only downside is that wedges are usually pretty tall.  These are from Payless.

A pencil skirt is a must.  I like the fact this one from Charlotte Russe has the side detail and is not black.

When I go shopping now I have two different wardrobes, work and fun.  I like when I can translate a piece into both wardrobes.  It is a double win.

Midweek Inspiration

Today I choose to do a little something different for the blog.  Wednesday is Hump Day, so to get through the day I decided to add to some quotes and pictures to the blog.

Remember happiness is key.

A Madonna quote
One of my new favorite quotes.
"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure
I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle.
But if you can't handle me at my worst,
then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."
Marilyn Monroe

Be who you are.  Not wh0 others want you to be.  And remember it is almost Friday!

Bedroom Blues

I have been exhausted this week.  School is coming to an end and that means a lot of projects.  The weather has not been very Spring like except for the rain.  It has been cold and all I have wanted to do is lay in bed.  Hence, my inspiration, bedrooms.  Granted I live in a little college apartment with other girls but if I had money and my own place, I would love to decorate.

I love this bed from Target, simple yet elegant.

I am really into the black and white beds.  This one is from Target, too.

Look at these fun pillows I found on Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  I want a set of these.

As I was searching on the internet for bedding, I have found some crazy beds that I think are worth sharing.

This is the romantic floating bed.

This would be a sweet bed to have as a kid.

You never would have to worry about falling out of the bed.

And if you fall out of this bed....you are going to be in trouble.

Remember it is okay to stay in bed all day and relax when the weather is ugly.  Make sure you cuddle up, watch a good movie or spend time catching up on your shows.

Shoes, Shoes, and More Shoes

I love shoes.  It is one of my obsessions.  I especially love sandals and summer shoes. Although boots do have a special place in my heart, I am ready to put the boots in the back of the closet and start showing off my pretty pink toenails.  I recently discovered a shoe website, Endless.com. I got a pair of Sperry's earlier this year for $38 from the site.  Here is a selection of shoes that I found.

Love a polka dot shoe, especially a wedge.
A bright yellow pump to brighten up any outfit.

I also saw these shoes on a commercial for Payless and I might go and buy them for myself.

I had to add these great zebra shoes from DSW, since I love zebra print.
Spring is the season to pick out a fantastic pair of shoes and then pick the outfit.  It is all about the shoes.

Wedding Season

Since April is the unofficial start of wedding season I decided to make the post dedicated to wedding guest apparel.  I have found some cute, non-expensive dresses and accessories that I think are perfect to wear to any wedding .

I love this dress from New York and Company.  I actually saw this dress when I was at the mall this morning and fell in love with it.  It would be perfect for either a day or evening wedding.  The simple accessories compliment the bold print on the dress.
Abstract Floral Dress

This dress is from the LC Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl's, I love the belt to show off a tiny waist.  The dress is simple yet it makes a statement.

I love wearing hair pieces now.  A headband or clip can complete an outfit just as well as a good necklace.  The following hair pieces were found at Charlotte Russe.

Welcome

My name is Kim and I have always wanted to start my own blog.  However, I never thought my life was interesting enough to blog about.  I began reading more and more blogs and have decided that I could blog.  My blog is going to include my favorite things and great finds in fashion, home, or anything that catches my eye.  I may too throw in some wedding ideas.  My dream job is to become a fantastic wedding coordinator.  So here I go...I am now a blogger.

Spring is finally here in Cincinnati...Gerber daises are my favorite flower to celebrate the season.
